Dave Warren

As Dave is just starting out he feels as if he is still finding his feet with his own personal style of photography. His connection with photography comes from how it is changing the way that he sees things in the world. In his own words

"Light, people, shapes and colours are forming new impressions in my mind and I'm enjoying the challenge of trying to capture that moment."

Georgina Bolt

One of Georgina's earliest memories is playing with her mothers Polaroid camera, as she grew up this fascination of being able to capture a moment to keep stuck with her.

Georgina is currently exploring many strands of photography but particularly likes practicing macro photography in her spare time. After completing her A-levels, she decided University wasn't the route for her and is now gaining experience in as many creative fields as she can.

Izzy Crosby

Izzy is currently studying art GCSE at school and hopes to progress to college to study photography and art after this she's love to be a photographer with a degree. Izzy is interested in photography as she loves capturing a moment through a lens. At the moment Izzy is experimenting with different styles and likes doing a bit of everything.

James Buckley

James enjoys doing photography in his own way. He is known to focus on landscapes. Since joining Ten Shots James has enjoyed learning about different areas of photography like portraiture and using monochrome. In his own words he is "now looking more outside the box and not what is in the view finder".

Lee Turner

Lee has always had a keen eye for abstract and uncontroversial views for angles and photographs. Using his phone for all his photography. Lee has lived on Portland for 3 years now and finds the natural beauty, inspirational views and history of the island to inspire him. Originally from London Lee finds Portland a fascinating canvas for his ongoing passion for photography.

Lucy Watkins

"I try to spend my days doing as little as possible. If i absolutely have to get out of bed, then I'll attempt to fill the day with an activity that affords pleasure of some kind. One of those pleasures is taking photographs. I’m drawn towards photographs that capture a human expression lost in thought and that suggests a sense of mystery. I like the idea that you can present a picture of someone whose countenance elicits an immediate sense of empathy while at the same time provoking a feeling of curiosity/intrigue."

Molly Scarborough

Molly is a Dorset based Producer, Facilitator, Marketing Officer, Administrator and Performing Artist. As a b-side team member, Molly chairs the Ten Shots meetings and helped initiate the collective in June 2016.

As a Performing Artist, Molly frequently uses photography as a tool to document her projects and their processes. She uses photography as a means to tell a story about her personal experiences and research. As a Marketing Officer Molly uses photography to capture other people's artwork / performance to promote it.

Rachel Dunford

Born and raised in Dorset, Rachel’s interests have always been rooted in photographic media. In 2014 Rachel graduated from the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB), with a degree in BA Hons Photography. Interested by the unusual and beauty of everyday life she is intrigued by the domestic environment, and the abstract qualities of objects within the home.

"The work I produce considers human tendencies and conventions with particular focus on the act of display within the inhabited environment and objects within the home which tell a story of their owner."

Sarah Colwell

Sarah has recently rekindled her passion for photography and combines it with her love of walking, the sea and countryside. She lives on Portland and, being right in the middle of the Jurassic coast, is afforded the many photo opportunities provided by the dramatic land and seascapes, quirky houses and ever changing marine activity.

Sarah’s aim is to "capture images in such a way that others can see her world from a perspective slightly different to their own."

Her work is predominantly inspired by nature and the sea, arresting colour and unusual light.

About the collective

To be a project based collective that works and exhibits collaboratively under the name 'Ten Shots'.

Our work is inspired by our immediate surroundings and responds both to our local environment and community. The group would like to show that photography is a diverse field that addresses a range of different issues.

They would love to hear from you if you have any ideas on how they could help you with your community focused projects.

Our aims...

Ten Shots was formed following a series of artist led workshops that culminated in an exhibition held at b-side’s Outpost in Portland, Dorset. Tenshots look to explore different photographic styles and practices and want to share their passion of photography with the local community.
